Dennis L. Wallette, Jr. is the Director of the Tangipahoa Mosquito Abatement District. He earned his B.S. in Biology from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1987, and his M.S. in Entomology from Louisiana State University in 1999.
Dennis began his career in mosquito control when he was hired as a Biologist at the East Baton Rouge Mosquito Abatement and Rodent Control District in 1990. In 2002, he left to take the position of Medical Entomologist for the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals. In 2003, he was named as the Director of the newly-created Tangipahoa Mosquito Abatement District.
Dennis is the current President of the American Mosquito Control Association, and he is a Past President (2005) of the Louisiana Mosquito Control Association and served on their Board of Directors for many years.
He is a member and Past President (2018) of the Hammond-Ponchatoula Sunrisers Rotary Club. Dennis is the current Vice-President of Southeastern’s Lion Athletic Association. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Southeastern Louisiana University Alumni Association. He is a 2009 graduate of Leadership Tangipahoa.
Dennis and his wife, Donna, live in Hammond.
